Celebrating Birthdays

It was established long ago that presents weren’t going to be accepted if I sent them. So for the last several years, I always put the same presents under my Christmas tree for my two kids.  This year for their birthdays, I’ve decided to make a video of something special and share it online.  That way, the ex can’t throw it away.

It was an easy choice for my son. On the last birthday I spent with him, we set off a rocket.  He spent a week building it.  I gave him an engine that was way too big.  I suspect the rocket is in low orbit to this day. He did his best to not cry.  The next day was the last time I saw him. So this year, I bought a rocket kit and plan to go to the park and launch a few rockets on his birthday.

My daughter is a much harder challenge.  She liked dolls and tea sets.  I’m considering having a tea party with my step daughter.  I don’t know if she still has any dolls left.  My daughter will be turning 14 this year.  Do you think it’s silly of me?

Please offer any suggestions if you have any to film something for my daughter.
