One of the most frustrating experiences I go through is the discrepancy facing the non-custodial parent. There are laws in place that are supposed to enforce child support (CS) and visitation rights. Yet, CS gets enforced by the police. Visitation support is only enforced by personal lawyers (which I can’t afford).
I can speak first hand for the 3 weeks I spent in jail a few months after being unemployed. My arrears had grown over the 6 months it took me looking for a job in a piss pour market. One night at 11 o’clock, the police were at my door. They took me down in my pajamas. My ex has enough privileges in our current system to have me jailed in my own pajamas just because I couldn’t find a job.
And yet, she has been able to alienate my children from me. Use false allegations to get free “protection”. (Even though the allegations were investigated and proven false) There is such an injustice. She should be put in jail for a few weeks to get her attention. But I don’t want that. Then the kids would be without their mother.
If only she could understand how important it is for the kids to have both parents, regardless if they like each other or not. Mary Esther Randel… shame on you for abusing the system.
